Shipping Information

Shipping costs are carrier based; that is, they are based on the actual weight and dimensions of the products you order. During the checkout process, you are offered your choice between Fedex and UPS carriers, and several shipping options.

Callie's Corner does not backorder items that are not in stock, and items appearing on our website are almost always available for immediate shipment.

Most orders are processed and shipped from our warehouse within two (2) working days of receipt of your order. Exceptions to this rule include: (1) off-line orders for which the purchaser has not called in with payment information; (2) orders missing one or more items that are expected from our suppliers within the next three working days; (3) orders having invalid shipping information to which the customer has not supplied corrected information.

Your order will be shipped by FEDEX or UPS service from our warehouse located in Virginia. TIP: We highly recommend that you choose GROUND service because most or our items are heavy and bulky and therefore expedited service charged by our carriers is usually quite expensive. Moreover, if your shipping destination is in the East Coast of the United States, you can generally expect receipt via GROUND service within 2-3 days time.

Shipment tracking numbers are not available until one working day after the order has been submitted, paid for and shipped. For example, an order you place on Saturday using a credit card will not be shipped until the next Monday at the earliest, and tracking information will not be available until Tuesday.

MAKE SURE YOU PROVIDE US A CORRECT SHIP TO ADDRESS. If the address you provide is not correct, including an accurate street number and street spelled correctly, and especially including a correct ZIP CODE, we will be charged $5.00 per package by UPS or FEDEX. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT YOU GIVE US A DELIVERABLE ADDRESS. Any address correction charges we receive because you failed to provide correct information will be charged back to you. For example, if your order requires six boxes, you will be charged 6 x 5 = $30.00 additional. If you have any doubt about the deliverability of the address you give us, please check it out at the official US Postal Service Zip Code Lookup Site as this is the database of addresses that FEDEX and UPS use to determine whether the address is valid.

Differences Between Online and Published Catalog Shipping Rates

Why are the shipping rates quoted online different from what is published on the Callie's Corner catalog order form?

Simply stated, there are two different systems in use to address the specific needs of our customers. Depending on where you live and what you order, it may be more favorable to you to order online, and in other cases, it may be more favorable to you to order by mail/fax or phone.

The shipping cost for orders placed online is based on an estimate of the packaged weight and dimensions of the individual items that make up your order; it is also based on the distance between our warehouse and where you want us to ship to. The quoted amount depends directly on what items you order and the shipping distance.

While this solution works for online orders, it will not work for customers wishing to order using a catalog order form (since they may not be able or desire to access the Internet just to get their shipping costs). To assist these customers, we give them a table of rates based on the dollar value of their order; this table is shown on our order form. With catalog ordering, the quoted amount does not depend exactly on what items you order or how far the order must travel; it only depends on the dollar amount of the products you order.

A big difference between the online rates and the catalog rates is that the former takes into account how far the package(s) must travel whereas the rates quoted in our catalog, for all practical purposes, cannot take this into account. In other words, we cannot list in our catalog, e.g., rates from our warehouse to each of the 50 states, much less rates to individual cities and towns.

We have tried to make the rates quoted in each system as comparable as possible. Nevertheless, sometimes you will save shipping costs by ordering online and sometimes you will do better to mail, fax or call in your order.

If you find that the shipping charges quoted online exceed those that would be incurred if you sent us your order by mail/fax or telephone, then you should mail, fax or call us with your order to get the lower shipping rate. Otherwise, you will have to accept the quoted online rate.
